Happy Memorial Day!  Please be aware that our offices will be closed on Monday, May 30th, for the Holiday.
We will reopen on Tuesday and will return any messages then.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Please join our Community on Monday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Veterans Memorial Park on Central Avenue to honor those who have given their lives in service to their country.

Our job at the Chamber is to be the voice of our members.  We're not here for politics; however we are very interested in your views concerning governmental actions that may impact you, our members. There has been a good deal of discussion lately about studying City and County Government Consolidation, and we want to know how our members feel.

Please take a few minutes to answer these questions.  Your responses are anonymous and will help us gauge how the business community views consolidation. Although we are not a government agency, we are the voice of our members and will share your concerns accordingly.

Please complete the survey by clicking on the following link:

Please complete the survey by May 31, 2016.

Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County has a historical treasure in our Grand Theatre.  Todd Damato and I had the idea to add to its many current uses by putting on "The Grand Concert Series".  We are looking for sponsors to help launch this concert series.  We are offering businesses an advertising opportunity to be on the ground floor of something that could possibly turn into a huge event for our town.  The long term goal is a weekend-long music festival, but we feel that starting small and working our way to the ultimate goal is the best move for several reasons.

The Grand Theatre now has official tumblers to take drinks into the auditorium which will allow us to start serving coffee and hot chocolate (seasonally). The 16 oz tumblers have the theatre logo on them and sell for $10.00 each. The first group are stainless with black accents. The money raised by the sale of these items will go for the retirement of the debt on Big Bart. Buy your tumbler today and bring it to the theatre every time you attend an event. Buy some as gifts, graduates, Father's Day, Memorial Day, Birthdays!

The Library is also excited to host a special appearance by the Mobile Dairy Classroom, a fun and educational program operated by the Agricultural Commodity Commission for Milk. The 30 ft Mobile Dairy Classroom features a fully operational milking parlor containing a live cow used for milking and feeding demonstrations. The goal of the program is to provide children with a better understanding of where milk comes from, how it is processed, the healthy benefits of consuming dairy products and dairy farmers' management of natural resources. This dynamic program will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 10am.
