Christmas Open House Planning Meeting was held Wednesday at the Chamber....We are excited to share that the committee has decided the Christmas Open House for downtown Fitzgerald will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016, 1-6:00 p.m. The lighting of the Christmas tree will be at 6:30 p.m. Come visit Christmas Treat Street aka Pine Street (section in front of Chamber) more information to follow.

We spent two wonderful nights in the Jolly House in mid-June, 2015. Two of us flew to Atlanta from Chicago, and two from Sacramento. We rented cars in Atlanta and drove to Fitzgerald to attend our annual Boggus Family Reunion. Many others of our family members came in from out of town, but none of them had the special accommodations that we enjoyed in the Jolly House! We loved waking to the chickens telling us, "Good morning!" Early morning walks towards downtown were also enjoyable.
There are so many interesting restaurants and cute shops, and we especially liked viewing other charming turn-of-the-century homes with their pretty landscaped properties in the neighborhood.
The house is just adorable. It has retained so much of its original charm, and it's clear that the home holds a special place in the heart of the proprietor. Fitzgerald will be our destination for many more future family reunions, and our plan is to book this special house - WAY in advance - for each one!

2016 Christmas Open House
Fitzgerald's Colony Business Association & Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that our annual Christmas Open House will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1-6pm, ending with the Lighting of the Tree at 6:15pm. This event is a chance for the community to experience a hearty dose of holiday cheer and preview all the exciting merchandise arriving in our stores for the holidays! The goal is to fill Historic Fitzgerald with all the sounds, sights, and smells of the Christmas season.
This years' event will include Christmas Caroling in the park (provided by children's choirs from local churches), door prize drawings at participating merchants, Live Music and holiday music playing in local businesses and over the Grand speakers, Holiday Treats for purchase (provided by local school/community organizations), Decorated Window/Entrance Contest for merchants (sponsored by Colony Business Association), the lighting of the Christmas Tree (sponsored by Community Bank), and possibly a visit from Santa at some of our local businesses. Specific event times, i.e. Caroling and Santa, will be announced at a later date.

It is with much excitement and great anticipation that we announce the Fitzgerald Harmony Jubilee! The fifth annual Harmony Jubilee will take place on November 11-12, 2016 at Paulk Park. The Harmony Jubilee is an event comprised of many facets. This year will include Hot Air Balloon events, an Outdoor Concert, and an Artisans Market.

Wine & Cheese Tasting and Balloon Glow Event

You are invited to attend a very special evening of wine & cheese tasting, live music, and a private balloon glow at Turkey Creek. The wine & cheese tasting will be accompanied by live music and a display featuring some of the items available on Saturday
at the Harmony Jubilee Artisan Market. The private hot air balloon glow will take place out on the golf course. This is a sight you do not want to miss! Turkey Creek is planning a special menu for this evening to be available at an additional cost. This will truly be a memorable evening! Tickets are $15/person and will be available at Turkey Creek, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Arts Council beginning October 28th.
The Harmony Jubilee committee is proud to announce there will be several entertainers to perform for this event on Saturday.
The Artisans Market will feature artisans from various locations and will be open throughout the course of the weekend. Everyone is welcome to explore this market and discover what special talents and items the artisans have to offer.
Children are encouraged to come participate in the Kids Zone activities that are sure to make memories for children of all ages.
