Alert - Important Public Hearing 11/16/17
Over the last 18 months our elected official have abused their authority and shown that they cannot be trusted when it comes to protecting our rights - now is the time to provide protections by passing GOAL legislation listed below.

On Thursday, November 16th the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security is scheduled to hear more than 40 bills that could impact your Second Amendment rights. The hearing will take place at the Massachusetts State House in Room A1, beginning at 11:00 AM.

By participating in this hearing, either by testifying or simply being present, you will have a chance to stand up for freedom and express your opposition to the misguided anti-gun proposals, while supporting GOAL legislation aimed at restoring Second Amendment rights in MA. Input received at this public hearing will determine the direction the Massachusetts General Court takes on our Second Amendment rights this legislative session.

Among the bills to be heard are three GOAL bills of note – please support:

  • H.1296 – An Act Relative To Constitutional Rights, filed by Representative James Miceli. This is a preemption bill, necessary because MA public officials have shown time and again that they will not follow due process in their quest to pass new – restrictive gun control laws.  This will put a stop to the abuse and remove their authority over our Second Amendment rights.
  • S.1316 – An Act relative to the sale of firearms, filed by Senator Anne Gobi. This bill removes the “copies and duplicates” language from Section 121 of chapter 140, thus removing the power of A.G. Healey’s July 2016 enforcement notice.
  • S.1326 – An Act Clarifying Firearms Oversight, filed by Senator Don Humason. This bill removes regulatory authority from the attorney general via consumer protection laws.

There are also bills that give us great concern – please oppose:

Online Ammo Sales In The News
Boston TV Channel Runs #FakeNews Story
Last night a Boston TV station ran a story about online ammunition purchasing that was fraught with sensationalism and very misleading.

The report was very slanted to give viewers the impression that it is illegal for a licensed gun owner in Massachusetts to purchase ammunition and ammunition components online.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Currently there is no law or regulation that forbids a licensed gun owner in MA from purchasing ammunition online. Their is also on law or regulation which forbids out of state entities from selling ammunition or ammunition components to licensed gun owners in MA.

NICS Has Been Broken For Years and Our Elected Officials, Who Are Pushing For More/New "Gun Control" Laws Have Ignored The Issue.
Last week we were shocked and saddened by the horrific crime committed in TX by a person who shouldn't have had access to guns, or society for that matter. Once again many elected officials are ignoring how all of the laws/systems/government failed. Instead, these same officials are stumping for more - new - even more restrictive "gun control" laws.

With that in mind, we look back to a story from 2013 , which reported on the federal government refusing to prosecute criminal acts committed during NICS checks.

"felons who attempt to buy guns from gun stores—and thereby subject themselves to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS)—know there is only a slightly higher chance they’ll be prosecuted (1.7 in 10,000) than struck by lightening (1 in 10,000, according to the National Weather Service)"

We hope that our elected official will stop ignoring the real issues, which remain unaddressed and start doing the hard work necessary to make real, positive change, which doesn't include new restriction and or regulation.
