If you've made phone calls already, please schedule an in person meeting with your state representative and senator!

On July 18th and 19th 2017, the legislature held two important public hearings regarding legislation that can impact licensed gun owners in a major way, both positively, and negatively.  

It is imperative that you take action and meet with your state representative and senator and urge them to support/oppose the legislation listed below.

The Joint Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing on multiple bills on 7/18/17. 

Notable bills heard by Judiciary:

Support -

• H.763 An Act relative to firearm suppressor safety filed by Josh S. Cutler (This bill would make MA the 43rd state to allow licensed individuals to use suppressors on firearms, rifles, shotguns, etc. Those who choose to do so would still need to meet all federal requirements.)
• H.769 An Act permitting the purchase and possession of electronic control weapons by abused persons for defensive purposes filed by David F. DeCoste (This bill would allow people who have filed a restraining order to purchase an electronic self defense weapon for personal protection)

Oppose - 

• H.2328 An Act to enhance courthouse security filed by James M. Murphy (This bill criminalizes a licensed individual being in possession of a firearm in a court building without written permission.)
• H.3069 An Act relative to the transportation of illegal firearms filed by Russell E. Holmes (This bill allows police to seize/impound/sell a vehicle if it  after an arrest for illegal firearms possession is made.  It also makes possession of a pellet gun in a vehicle illegal.  This bill is a loosely defined mess.)
• H.3081 An Act establishing extreme risk protective orders filed by David Linsky (This bill is one of the most egregious attacks on our civil rights in years.)  Click here for more information.

Support - 

• H.2492 An Act relative to defensive electric devices filed by Colleen M. Garry (This bill legalizes electronic self defense weapons and makes them available over the counter)

Oppose -

• H.3264 An Act relative to electric current weapons filed by Daniel J. Hunt (This bill would make e-weapons available to LTC holders after taking special training.  We oppose this because GOAL feels that these items should be available over the counter without license requirement, as is the case in a majority of the country.)
