Are You A GOAL Member?

It's not unusual for us to receive phone calls from MA gun owners who are looking for guidance and are not members of GOAL.

Often times they ask "why should I join GOAL?"   The answer is simple: "our answering of your phone call and question is made possible by GOAL members".

We are more than just a resource though, we continually work to protect & restore Second Amendment freedom, we support many education efforts including our full training schedule and we proudly represent the interests of all law abiding gun owners.

If you are not a member, please consider joining, you can do so online here: http://goal.org/joingoal.html

GOAL Alerts
The Second Amendment Under Attack!
Please check your town meeting warrant for anti Second Amendment articles.  Early detection is the key to stopping these attacks.  If you find anything, please email mike@goal.org
***Ipswich New Info***

Ipswich had an open for comment meeting this week regarding all articles on the 2016 warrant. The Ipswich Selectmen voted unanimously to "not recommend" Article 20. It will still need to be stopped at town meeting, but it will not have the support of the selectmen. Great work to all who spoke against Article 20.

Original alert: GOAL has learned that there is a hunting/discharge ban on the town warrant for the May 10th Annual Town Meeting.  The proponent of the article wants to ban the safe and lawful discharge of firearms on private property. See Article 27 on page 38. (note it's mistakenly marked as Article 25)

Town Meeting is May 10, if you are an Ipswich resident please attend and vote NO.

H.2158 Info Session - Please Attend!

Saturday, May 7, 2016 10:00 am - 1:00 pm @ Division of Fisheries & Wildlife HQ - Westborough, MA.

Help us stop the town by town attacks, we need your testimony!

If your local city/town is requiring anything extra of you to apply for a state firearm license, please attend this meeting and provide information to Rep. Vieira.  Along with your verbal testimony, it would be very helpful if you could bring documentation of the added requirements. This could be in the form of printouts from municipal websites, additional application forms from your city/town, etc.

Please click here for more information.

Here is the GOAL Alert:

GOAL has learned that Longmeadow Massachusetts will be voting at town meeting on May 10th and could vote in some drastic anti-Second Amendment measures.

Please see the text of Article’s 26, 27, 28 from the 2016 town meeting warrant (see below).  This was sent to us by a member.  These articles are an outright assault on your Second Amendment rights.  Article 26 would ban lawful carry of firearms on all town property including sidewalks.  Article 27 would require gun registration upon renewal of license.  Article 28 would ban many commonly owned firearms and magazines

Please know that the warrant is yet to be finalized.

Town Meeting begins May 10, click here for more information.

If you live in Longmeadow please plan on attending town meeting and voting NO on all three articles!

Good News re: Imitation Gun Bill

The imitation gun bill has been sent to study, so it is officially collecting dust for the near future, we'll see what happens ne xt winter when the new session begins.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to call/email/write your legislator in opposition to this erroneous legislation.
Lowell Sun FOIA's Lowell PD - LTC Applicants

LOWELL -- A security guard wants to protect himself and improve his job prospects by being able to apply for positions as an armed security guard. A store owner wants to feel safe from the threat of robbery.

They're among four city residents -- three male, one female -- who have applied to the Lowell Police Department -- and received -- an unrestricted license to carry a firearm in public. The approvals are the first since the department earlier this year updated its gun policy, adding two controversial requirements: Applicants must take a safety course and submit a "written supplement" -- or essay -- explaining the reason(s) for seeking the license.
