Please remember, everything we do, including this email is made possible by the generous support of GOAL members.  If you are not a member, please consider joining GOAL , if you are a member, please consider a generous donation, purchasing raffle tickets, or attending a GOAL event.
Are You A GOAL Member?

It's not unusual for us to receive phone calls from MA gun owners who are looking for guidance and are not members of GOAL.

Often times they ask "why should I join GOAL?"   The answer is simple: "our answering of your phone call and question is made possible by GOAL members".

We are more than just a resource though, we continually work to protect & restore Second Amendment freedom, we support many education efforts including our full training schedule and we proudly represent the interests of all law abiding gun owners.

If you are not a member, please consider joining, you can do so online here: http://goal.org/joingoal.html

Governor Baker Wants Feedback From Small Business Owners.

This is a great opportunity for licensed retailers to discuss how twenty years of regulation from the AG's office has impacted business.

MA Firearm Retailers - Make Your Voice Heard!  The Baker - Polito administration is hosting a "Small Business Listening Session" on May 25, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. at Mount Wachusett Community College.  This is a fantastic opportunity to discuss how two plus decades of regulation from our state AG have harmed business and revenue, while doing nothing to advance public safety.

You must register in advance to attend.

ZBA Votes In Favor Of Westminster

Westminster update - positive development last night, but....

There is still a ways to go. The ZBA found in favor of the club at last night's meeting.

That's the positive news.

However, it's not over. There is now a 20 day waiting period that allows an appeal of the decision. This would require a court appearance by the neighbor who wants to force the club to close. If he appeals the club will have 100 days to respond.

The club is working on organizing a range fun day to raise funds to offset their skyrocketing legal fees. We will provide details for that as they become available.

GOAL Firearm Safety Day for MA Legislators, Please Call Today - Encourage Yours To Attend!

Please Contact Your Legislator TODAY

GOAL's Annual Firearm Safety & Education Day (FSED) is scheduled for Friday June 9, 2017.

Our annual FSED is a vitally important educational opportunity for Massachusetts legislators. State representatives, senators and their staff members get hands on education regarding proper gun handling, spend one on one time with our select NRA instructors, and spend quality time at the range shooting many types and calibers of rifles, pistols, and shotguns.

There's even a friendly - ongoing clay competition; bragging rights are up for grabs at the state house!

Help us teach legislators about firearms - please take action today!

-Please call your state representative and senator today, 617-722-2000.  You can also look up contact info for your state legislator by clicking here.

-Please urge them to attend GOAL's FSED scheduled for June 9, 2017.

GOAL sent invitations via email and traditional mail to every MA legislator, if they do not have the information, please encourage them to contact Angi at the GOAL office, 508-393-5333 x20.

Next Week! AG Healey Wants Your Feedback!

AG Healey's Next Town Hall Forum - May 22nd in Lowell!

Attorney General Healey is currently touring the state hosting a series of open to all "town hall" meetings.

AG Healey has stated that she wants to hear from voters of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and it's time for us to start asking her questions!

Take Action!

Please attend one of AG Healey's upcoming town hall meetings and ask the AG why she refused to comply to GOAL's FOIA request and why she ignored more than eighty legislators who wanted her 7/20 enforcement notice explained.

Notes - despite her claims she never responded to the FOIA or the letter, see below:

  • Her office did not provide a timely response to GOAL's FOIA request (as outlined by MA law), it came only after GOAL sent an official appeal to Secretary of State Galvin's office. Read more on this here
  • None of the requested documents were provided, her office chose to only share brochures supplied by firearms manufacturers with the purchase of a gun. Read more on this here
  • Her office ignored multiple letters from over eighty MA legislators, including this one from Rep. John Fernandes.

Upcoming Town Halls - event begins at 7:00 PM

May 22, 2017 - Wang School, 365 W Meadow Rd, Lowell, MA

Please note, you must RSVP to be admitted to these events.  To do so, go to AG Healey's Facebook page and scroll down to "events" to RSVP.  If you are not on Facebook please call her office and let them know that you would like to RSVP - (617) 727-2200
