**Longmeadow MA Alert**  NEW!

GOAL has learned that Longmeadow Massachusetts will be voting at town meeting on May 10th and could vote in some drastic anti-Second Amendment measures.

Please see the text of Article’s 26, 27, 28 from the 2016 town meeting warrant (see below).  This was sent to us by a member.  These articles are an outright assault on your Second Amendment rights.  Article 26 would ban lawful carry of firearms on all town property including sidewalks.  Article 27 would require gun registration upon renewal of license.  Article 28 would ban many commonly owned firearms and magazines

Please know that the warrant is yet to be finalized.

Town Meeting begins May 10, click here for more information.

If you live in Longmeadow please plan on attending town meeting and voting NO on all three articles!

**Lincoln MA Alert**  Meeting This Weekend!

GOAL has learned that the town of Lincoln will be voting on anti Second Amendment rhetoric, in the form of a town meeting article (36).

Article 36 will be voted on at town meeting, beginning Saturday, March 19th at 9:30 AM, more info here: http://www.lincolntown.org/index.aspx?NID=257

Text of Article 36 here: http://www.lincolntown.org/DocumentCenter/View/20836

If you are a resident of Lincoln please attend town meeting, tomorrow, March 19th and vote NO.

Lincoln residents should be concerned that their town is wasting time and valuable resources voting on an article which is nothing but anti Second Amendment propaganda.

**West Boylston Alert**

Anti Second Amendment Activists renew their push for rights suppression, if you are a West Boylston resident please attend this important hearing.

PUBLIC HEARING - ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
The Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing at the West Boylston Town Offices, 140 Worcester Street, West Boylston, MA, on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 7:45 p.m., to act on the petition of George Bilotta, Loree Griffin Burns, Jessica Frenger, Patrick McGreal, Timothy C. O’Brien, Mary Ellen Davis, Rich Wall and John Sullivan, individually and on behalf of Concerned Citizens of West Boylston, for Administrative Appeal of the decision of the Interim Building Commissioner/Zoning Enforcement Officer to deny the request for an Order concerning the property at 241 and 251 Laurel Street, West Boylston,MA, to stop a gun firing range on this property. Record title of this property stands in the name of Almstrom Realty Trust, Wayne Almstrom, Trustee, 241 Laurel Street, West Boylston, MA. Copies of the petition are on file in the office of the Town Clerk, 140 Worcester Street. All interested parties are invited to attend the hearing.

Toby S. Goldstein, Secretary

**Lexington Alert**

The town of Lexington will vote on Article 34 at town meeting beginning on April 6, 2016.

The article, (as of today) is to be submitted to town meeting as a non-binding resolution, it is no longer a ban.  While this is good news we need to point out that the basic premise of Article 34 is an insult to all law abiding gun owners. His logic is also flawed in that he insinuates that a gun is inherently "dangerous". A firearm is an inanimate object incapable of doing anything on its own. The only thing that has the potential for being dangerous is the person and there is nothing in any of the versions of Article 34 which addresses this. It's just more bigotry, harassment and blame of lawful gun owners. For this reason GOAL will ask that our members and the residents of Lexington continue to oppose Article 34.

To stop this article from becoming law, it must be voted down by Lexington's town meeting members at the Annual Town Meeting.

The annual town meeting is scheduled for March 21, 2016 at 7:30 PM in the Carey Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA 02420.

Take Action!

Lexington residents need to contact their town meeting members and urge them to vote NO on Article 34.

Plan on attending town meeting April 6, 2016 and speaking out against this attack on our Second Amendment.

Article 34 In The News

A Lexington man who proposed a local ban on “assault weapons” has switched gears after polling his fellow Town Meeting members, and will instead move forward with a nonbinding resolution urging state legislators to strengthen Massachusetts gun laws.

Robert Rotberg said his new measure asks the Board of Selectmen to initiate a townwide discussion about gun violence that would lead to “fully considered proposals” to present to the Legislature.

“This is an effective compromise based on the reluctance of many Town Meeting members to put themselves against a lot of pressure,” he said in a telephone interview Wednesday night. “The external gun lobby obviously has put a lot of effort into combatting the original proposal.”
