GOAL Alert:  Town of Lexington Voting To Ban Commonly Owned Firearms & Magazines

Info:

Lexington Town Meeting Member Robert Rotberg has initiated an attack on the Second Amendment.

Rotberg initiated a citizen's petition (article) modeled after the Highland Park IL gun ban. If passed, this article would ban many commonly owned firearms and magazines in the town of Lexington. Currently the town of Lexington has over 800 residents who are duly licensed to own firearms. Should this article become law it would affect an untold amount of firearms, which are currently legally owned.

To stop this article from becoming law, it must be voted down by Lexington's town meeting members at the Annual Town Meeting.

The annual town meeting is scheduled for March 21, 2016 at 7:30 PM in the Carey Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA 02420.

Lexington residents need to contact their town meeting members and urge them to vote NO on Mr. Rotberg's article.

Take Action!

If you are a resident of Lexington, please contact your town meeting representative and urge them to vote NO on the article filed by Mr. Rotberg. (at this time we do not know what number the article will be)
See contact info for town meeting members below.

Plan on attending town meeting March 21, 2016 and speaking out against this attack on our Second Amendment.

Boston Globe Edits GOAL's Op-Ed

The Boston Globe asked GOAL to write a piece in support of our Second Amendment and legal possession of AR15 style rifles.

We wrote that the high profile mass murders happen "predominately" in "gun free" zones and they would not run that language. They chose to instead edit it to, "Many of the mass murders".

Also note, the picture to the right of John Rosenthal of Stop Handgun Violence.  He is holding a firearm with a Boston Police Dept. evidence tag.  We have to ask, why is the Boston Police Dept. supplying firearms to Stop Handgun Violence for their press conference?
***ALERT*** Governor Baker supporting "No Fly" legislation.

GOAL has learned that Governor Baker is supporting legislation filed by Representative Lori A. Ehrlich which would allow state officials to deny rights with no due process.

See Governor Baker Speak In Support Of The Legislation Here.

Governor Baker can be reached by phone at: 617.725.4005

Rep Ehrich's bill would do away with due process for MA citizens who appear on one or more of the federal watch lists, see below for more info:

  • There is zero statutory criteria or due process for inclusion on the lists.
  • These lists would be run by unelected officials with no oversight and no accountability.
  • Should your name wind up on the lists you will be virtually powerless to find out why you are on it, or to have it removed.
  • The government is not required to tell you why you are on the lists.
  • There is no due process, no right to a trial, nothing, you can wind up on the lists and lose your rights.

Legislation of this nature goes directly against the Constitution and must be stopped.

Please call, mail and email Governor Baker today, ask him not to support HD4331 "An Act relative to denying firearms and explosives to suspected terrorists" or any other proposal which would arbitrarily deny or suppress our Constitutional rights.

No On HD4331!

Governor Baker can be reached by phone at: 617.725.4005
