Thank you to our entire Riverview Learning Community for a wonderful school year! It has been such a positive and productive year!  We couldn't do it without you!  We are so proud of our Riverview Rockets! They have grown so much this year academically, socially and emotionally.

As we reflect on the year, we feel very fortunate and grateful to work alongside such a  dedicated  and amazing staff, supportive parents and wonderful students. We want to express our gratitude to our Riverview parents for all your support.  Being able to work collaboratively with you has truly helped our students meet with success.  We want to thank our wonderful PTA for the special events, hours of volunteering and the support they have provided that enable us to have such an amazing school year. We want to thank the Board of Education, Mr. Forte and Dr. Cullis as well for all they do for our district. Also thank you to the Foundation of Denville for funding great programs and resources.

As we look back on the year, we have much to celebrate. Riverview was recognized as a state school of character, we raised funds to rebuild four wells in Africa, our students participated in many amazing school events, concerts and performances as well as making noteworthy  academic strides. We continued to uphold our vision and and have observed our students show grit and grace when meeting with challenges. They are empathetic and respectful learners.

On Friday, we had our mural unveiling in which we were able to see the beautiful mural that was created  by our fourth and fifth graders through  our Artist in Residency Program.  The mural will adorn the walls and remind our students to display ROCKET behavior. It serves to highlight the importance of being kind. When creating the mural students also added the reminder to reach for the stars!  Thank you to  our volunteers, parents, and staff  that helped with painting. Thank you to the PTA for funding this amazing program.  The fourth and fifth graders will leave this as their legacy and reminder to always be kind.  What a beautiful addition to our school!

In continuing our goal to remind our students to be kind and respectful Mrs. Sylvester alongside with Ms. Jamison have created a beautiful Peace Path.  Every student and staff member decorated and painted a rock with a positive message for others.  This outside path will be a place of reflection and allowing peace and kindness to grow throughout our school.  Thank you Mr. Cashman for landscaping the area and to for the PTA mini grants which allowed the purchase of the river rocks.

On June 21st, we will have our Awards Assembly at 9:30 AM. We are are truly proud of our fifth graders and wish them continued success in Valleyview and beyond.

We wish all our students and their families a restful and enjoyable summer. Summer is a great time to play and just have fun. Of course reading great books and writing fun stories is always encouraged as well as keeping those math facts sharp!

We hope your summer is filled with many joyful memories!
