A Story From a Resident
Friendship House has given my life a purpose. When using there seems no end is in sight. God, however, opened a door for me and with a glimmer of hope set me on a path to where a new way of life seemed possible. There are many sleepless nights and many negative thoughts that arise in the early days of recovery. Without the staff and serious prayer there’s no way I could of ever thought I’d be writing this, yet achieve seven months of sobriety. I owe my life to my higher power, my counselor for getting me through some really tough times, and the comfort of being able to call Friendship House home.
Mother's Day Garden Fundraiser
It is time for our annual Mother's Day Garden fundraiser, where you can make a donation in honor or in memory of someone special. Sammi's Socks!
We would like to acknowledge Sammi Mitchell, a young girl in the second grade with an amazing goal she surpassed by leaps and bounds! Inspired by our Empowerment Center on Martin Luther King day, she set a goal to collect 1,000 pairs of socks by March 20th. She ended up collecting 4,000 pairs of socks! We are astonished and grateful for this amazing gift to benefit all those in need. Thank you, Sammi, for being such an inspiration.
