July, 2016 - In This Issue:
From the Desk of Our Executive Director
On June 19th, the City of Hayward, in partnership with  Hayward Promise Neighborhood and  Made in Hayward, was put in the national spotlight. Dozens of representatives from the city made their way to Denver to take part in the All-American City Awards, a prestigious honor awarded to 10 cities a year that are "celebrated [as] the best in American civic innovation... [the award] shines a spotlight on trail-blazing efforts to bring all aspects of the community together to tackle the most pressing local issues." After months of hard work and dedication, the City of Hayward was announced as one of the ten 2016 National Civic League's All-American Cities

While many of the partnerships in Hayward were cited as crucial to the success of the city, Hayward Promise Neighborhood was specifically noted as a critical piece of Hayward's success in winning the award. The collective impact that has happened over the past five years, with 4Cs of Alameda County at the helm of HPN's Early Learning Network, is a testament to the dedication by 4Cs staff and those in partnering agencies.

Congratulations to the City of Hayward, Hayward Promise Neighborhood, 4Cs of Alameda County, and all those that work to make our communities stronger and better for the next generation.

Be Well,

Renee S. Herzfeld, Executive Director
Child Care Payment Assistance Families
What You Need to Know This Summer
  • If you're a participant on the CalWORKs Stage I program, and you need child care service because you are continuing your education through the summer session, be sure to advise your Employment Counselor that you will need full-time care during the summer months. We support and applaud your efforts and want to ensure that nothing interferes with your success.
  • When the summer fun has come and gone, be sure to update your Case Specialist with your child's bell schedule when they return to school. This ensures that your child will have the appropriate coverage for child care.
  • Your child care services  are vital in enabling your continued success, please note when it's time for you to recertify your eligibility.
