MJHS is bringing this interesting and informative documentary
to the entire Michiana Jewish community - it's appropriate for children and adults from 6 to 96!
Dr. Linda J. Borish, its Executive Producer and primary researcher, will introduce the 30-minute film and answer questions following the viewing. Borish is an Associate Professor in the History Department and Gender and Women's Studies Department at Western Michigan University, Professor Borish and has published extensively about the history of Jewish sports in America.

The Kurt & Tessye Simon Foundation of Temple Beth-El presents: Between the Stones and the Hard Place-Presenting the Struggle of Women of the Wall with Anat Hoffman, Chairman of the Board of Women of the Wall and Executive Director of the Israel Religious Action Center.

Anat will share with our community the struggle of a group of Israeli women who seek the right for Jewish women to conduct prayer services, read from a Torah scroll while wearing prayer shawls, and sing out loud at the Western Wall in Jerusalem-Judaism's most sacred site.

JDC Archives
Fellowships and Grants

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) Archives is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2017 fellowship program. In 2017, 5-6 fellowships will be awarded to senior scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and independent researchers to conduct research in the JDC Archives, either in New York or in Jerusalem. Topics in the fields of twentieth century Jewish history, modern history, social welfare, migration, and humanitarian assistance will be considered, as well as other areas of academic research covered in the JDC archival collections. To identify relevant materials, please see our finding aids. The fellowship awards are $2,500-$5,000.
