Desert Heights Charter Schools

Dear Desert Heights Family,

The end of summer break is upon us and the start of the school year is right around the corner! We are excited to see all of you on August 3rd. As we do every summer, we are working diligently to prepare our campuses for your return. We have 15 new teachers and several new staff members who are very eager to become a part of our wonderful Desert Heights Family! Please be sure to take a moment to say hello and introduce yourselves to all of the new faces on our campuses. I would personally like to extend a hearty thank you to all of our staff who worked tirelessly throughout the summer in preparation for the start of this upcoming year. GO TEAM COYOTE!!

Thank you to all of you who attended our orientation sessions. Our goal is to give families an opportunity to address any needs they may have prior to the start of the school year, and to learn of any new and exciting changes; from the infusion of new technologies like interactive televisions and our iPad Program to the implementation of a new, user friendly parent/student information acquisition platform through Synergy. Please be sure to stay abreast of all that is happening through our Tuesday Folder Correspondence!

This is the time of year that families decide to make their Tax Credit Donations. Please be reminded that your tax credit dollars are a tremendous help to sustaining the quality education you have grown accustomed to at Desert Heights Charter Schools. With continued cuts to education looming, your contributions support our ability to provide our students with an unparalleled educational experience academically, athletically and socially. Please encourage friends and family members to consider making a contribution also!

As a friendly reminder, please be prepared to exercise caution and patience during drop off and pick up times. We have made considerable improvements to our dismissal processes with your support over the years and we expect that this will continue. The first few weeks of school are always the most difficult as new members to our communities learn our processes. I am confident that if we all work together, we will minimize the transition time dramatically without compromising the safety of our students, staff and families. Please be certain to abide by all posted signage regarding parking and driving within the vicinity of our schools. It is very important to us to be good neighbors to those near our campuses.

Again, we look forward to seeing you all soon. Please do not hesitate to give us a call at (602) 896-2900 if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
