The famous, one-of-a-kind St. Mark's Bookshop is preparing to move. The Friends of St. Mark's Bookshop Committee - local leaders, business people, authors, artists, and publishers - asks for your support as the store transitions to its new role in the community as store, event space, and literary non-profit.

St. Mark's Bookshop intends to renew itself to stand alongside colleagues at McNally Jackson, Bluestockings, Three Lives, 192 Books, Housing Works, Book Culture, and the other great bookstores in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens to keep books alive, to support authors and publishers of all sizes, and keep the written and spoken word vibrant and challenging.

Short term, St. Mark's needs cash as it prepares to build fixtures in the new space a few blocks away and buy new stock. The current location is still open (come by and make a purchase), and there will be benefits, signed book auctions and more to come soon. Send an email to FriendsofStMarksBookshop@gmail.com and we'll keep you informed of upcoming plans.

You can make a charitable donation to the Live Arts at St. Mark's' program at Fractured Atlas, a verified 501c3 hosting site.

Thanks!
