WELCOME TO WINDWOOD, SUMMER 2017
From the Manager's Desk

Welcome Back!

It is hard to believe that I am starting summer number 26 as your Club manager.  Many thanks to those of you who have served on the board, attended last year's surprise annual meeting and for all of our members old and new who make this a great place.  We will continue to provide one of the best clubs in the area.

We have a new assistant manager this year.  Please welcome Tim Beerman who will be joining our staff as Louise has decided not to return.  She will be filling in for me on a few shifts.  Please welcome all of our new staff members.  We are hoping to have the staff pictures posted this year on the bulletin board to assist our members in knowing the staff.

I wanted to take a few minutes to review some areas where we need all of our members help.
  • There should be no glass containers at the pool.
  • You need your pass when you are at the pool. Please bring it with you.
  • Be sure to reserve the pavilion for large groups.  We need to be sure we are properly staffed.
  • Be sure to update or complete a family emergency card so we have contact info on hand.
    • If you have a young child who is not toilet trained they MUST wear a diaper, plastic pants with  snug fitting legs and a swim suit.  An accident will cause the pool to close. We need your help with this to avoid the inconvenient and costly closures.   See below from CDC
"To help protect your family and friends from Crypto and other diarrhea-causing germs, do not swim or let your kids swim if sick with diarrhea," Michele Hlavsa, R.N., M.P.H., chief of CDC's Healthy Swimming Program, said in a statement. "Protect yourself from getting sick by not swallowing the water in which you swim."
The CDC  urges pools and water parks   to close if cases of diarrhea are detected for more aggressive treatment of the water.

The CDC also recommends the following tips to prevent contraction of Crypto:
* Don't swim or let your kids swim if sick with diarrhea.
* If diarrhea is caused by Crypto, wait two weeks after symptoms have stopped before going swimming.
* Don't swallow the water while swimming.
* Rinse off in the shower before getting in the water to help remove any germs on your body that could contaminate the pool.
* Take kids on bathroom breaks often, and check diapers in a diaper-changing area, and not right next to the pool.

Finally, we need your help in policing and not using the dumpster.  The dumpster is barely able to handle the trash that the club produces in our operation.  We have seen an increased use of the dumpster by outside dumping.  We cannot need to have special pickups because the dumpster is full because of outside dumping.  Thanks.
