Dear Parents and Guardians
On Monday, April 9th, a JP2 alum, Nick Beaulieu and his brother Tyler, a freshman and a senior at Xavier High School spoke with the entire JP2 family at our community, morning meeting. The boys discussed their upcoming mission trip to Guatemala and asked for donations of crayons, coloring books, and any school supplies. We have a basket at the front entrance for students to drop off their items.
Today Wednesday, April 11th, Fr. Richard Sliwinski and Mr. Alex Incera spoke to the students about their mission trip to Maimon in the Dominican Republican. The children saw a visual presentation of the people of Maimon and how this poor community lives every day. Mr. Incera informed the students and staff of the help given to the poor by providing free vision care and eye glasses to this community in need. The students were told about our mission as Catholics to follow in the example of Jesus Christ helping our fellow man/woman/child. The students were given envelopes today and asked to consider "offering up" their snack money or allowance this week to help a child like themselves.
We all need to realize our wealth is defined not by what we keep, but what we give away. The idea that our mission as parents and teachers to give whatever we can to help our brothers and sisters in God was discussed. Please encourage your child to participate in any way her or she can.
There is mass this Friday, April 13th at 10am. Students need to wear their formal uniforms. All are welcome to attend.
Spring Break is from Monday-Friday, April 16-20th.
Standardized Testing will begin Monday, April 23rd. Please make sure your child has a good night's rest and breakfast every morning.
