Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to inform you that the Iowa Assessments Results for your child will be sent home on Friday. You will receive a Profile Narrative for your child which will indicate your child’s achievement level. Your child’s score is represented by the NPR (National Percentage Ranking). It is not a grade. The NPR indicates the percent of students in the country in the same grade who obtained a score lower than you students. For example: If your child’s NPR is 90 in any test category that indicates that 90% of students taking the Iowa test in your child’s grade nationwide scored lower than your child.
The Profile Narrative for your child also indicates if your child’s score for each category is in the above average, average, or below average range for each test category. Please keep in mind that the Iowa Test is only part of your child’s picture of academic progress.
I can say that based on our grade Group Profile our students for the most part scored higher than the National Percentile in all areas. If you have any questions regarding your child’s scores please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your support of St. John Paul II.
