Every six years, schools throughout the Archdiocese of San Francisco go through an accreditation process. This process allows schools to see areas of strength and areas for growth, and to develop a series of Action Plans that will ensure continued student growth and high achievement for all students. Over the course of the last several months, the shareholders of the school community have been reviewing and revising the school's mission, philosophy and Schoolwide Learning Expectations, the first step in the accreditation process. Parents of the school were asked, in the fall, to complete surveys about our school. This information was reviewed by faculty and staff as well as other shareholders. Our school will have its next accreditation visit on March 5 - 7, 2019, and the first step in this accreditation process is reviewing the documents listed above.
The review process for the documents linked at the bottom of this letter for your final review have been developed through careful analysis of surveys sent to shareholders and discussions and input from faculty, staff, school board members, students and pastor. As you read through the mission, philosophy and Schoolwide Learning Expectations, keep in mind the following:
- The Mission and Philosophy explicitly state who the school is, who the school serves and what the school attempts to accomplish. Furthermore, the mission statement and philosophy provide the school's foundation for establishing the Schoolwide Learning Expectations.
- Schoolwide Learning Expectations are a focus for student achievement. These expectations state what a student should know, understand, value and be able to do by graduation.
Please review the final drafts (links below) and send any feedback you might have to Jen Bruzzone (
