Dahlias, Dahlias, Everywhere!
A must-see event for any flower lover, the Annual Dahlia Festival at Swan Island Dahlias in Canby is happening this weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. At the event you can view over 400 floral arrangements of dahlias and over 15,000 cut dahlia blooms on display--the largest display put on by one grower in the U.S.! Live demonstrations will go on throughout the festival, and visitors can stroll through over 30 acres of dahlias in full bloom. Admission and parking are FREE. On the Canby Farm Loop.
Spotlight on Events:
King's Raven Winery
Who says yoga and wine don't mix? Certainly not the fine folks over at King's Raven Winery! On Sept. 18 they will host their 2nd Annual Family Yoga Festival, a benefit for Childrens Services. Added bonus: you get to do yoga on one of the latest filming locations of "Portlandia."  The winery is located on the  Canby Farm Loop .

Autumn = Planting Season
Nursery with ornamental red trees in a garden
Fall is well-known for many things football, sweaters and pumpkin spiced-everything but did you know it is an ideal time for planting? If you're looking to incorporate some native plants or perennials into a display garden, this is the time of year to be doing so.

Bosky Dell Natives on the Farmlandia Farm Loop is a great place to look around. Located in a beautiful natural setting at the foot of Pete's Mountain, Bosky Dell has over 300 species of native northwest plants, not to mention historical treasures and natural features. A favorite place for school groups and natural plant enthusiasts!

Another favorite is Out in the Garden Nursery on the Molalla Country Farm Loop. With perennials and ornamental grasses for sun or shade, this nursery is all about helping you figure out what plants will work best for your garden. As an added bonus, they have a petting zoo featuring friendly goats.

Meet Sassy & Her Friends!
Ever seen a baby Mediterranean Miniature Donkey in the flesh? Well, now is your chance! This beauty to the left, Sassy, lives on Tollen Farm on the Farmlandia Farm Loop. You can see (and feed) her and her buddies on this charming, eco-friendly small farm. In addition you can view the century-old farmhouse, and take a stroll through the mature orchards and pastures complete with Arabian horses, a fluffy llama, and--of course--a herd of Mediterranean Donkeys.

Customer Appreciation Day at Union Mills Feed
