Full-Day Preschool Offered For 2018-2019

Guardian Angels School is expanding our preschool offerings beginning in the 2018-2019 school year! Next year, we will offer a full day program for 3 and 4 year olds along with a full day program for pre-kindergarten students.

After care will be available for students in both programs each day until 6:00 p.m. Registration for both programs will begin in late January.
Guardian Angels School Open House

Our Open House kicks off Catholic Schools Week each year in January. Open House includes our current families as well as families considering Guardian Angels School for the future. It is a great way to meet current families, talk with teachers in their classrooms, and get a feel for the community you will find here. Our Open House will be held on Sunday, January 28th from 1:00-3:00pm.
You can RSVP for our Open House  online. This is not mandatory, however, guests do register at the door so this will speed up the process once you arrive at our Open House.
Fall Soup & Speaker Series: December 18

All parishioners are invited to join our Fall Soup and Speaker Series. The next event is Monday, December 18th. Soup will be served at 6:00pm in the undercroft; the presentation will follow.

Come hear Fr. Sean Wilson share the life and experiences of Sts. Zelie and Louis Martin, the first married couple to be canonized together. Learn how they grew in love of each other and God despite great struggle, including the deaths of four young children and St. Zelie's early death to breast cancer. A flyer is attached.
Reminders From the Religious Education Office

Confirmation Parent Meeting/7th Grade
The Confirmation Parent/Candidate meeting has been rescheduled. The new date is February 8th at 7:00pm in the undercroft. This replaces the original meeting scheduled for January 11th. At least one parent and his/her current 7th grade student, must be in attendance.

First Communion Parent Meeting
The First Communion parent meeting, scheduled for October 26th, has been rescheduled. The meeting will now take place on February 22nd at 7:00pm in the undercroft. This meeting will be for the parents only.
Consider Becoming An Arimathean

The Arimatheans (named for Joseph of Arimathea) are persons who attend parish funerals in order to offer prayer for the deceased and support for the bereaved family. This is an excellent ministry for anyone who is able to attend an occasional weekday Mass - including retired people or stay-at-home parents with children in school. There are no requirements, obligations, dues, or meetings!

There is a phone chain to let anyone on the Arimathean list know that a funeral will be held on a certain day and time, usually late morning.  If you cannot be there we understand, but maybe you can. Sometimes there are very few people at the funeral of an elderly person, and the families always appreciate our presence!

Call Sue Steffen at 231-4274 or the rectory at 231-7440 for more information.
Fathers Team Welcoming New Members

This men's fellowship group meets weekly to discuss current issues for fathers and their families. The one hour meetings involve prayer, scripture, catechism, song, and large and small discussion groups. A year-long syllabus is published and followed.
Discussions this year will include:
  • Helping your children be the best they can be
  • Wholesome family entertainment
  • How to introduce the faith to young children
  • Being Catholic in a divided spiritual house
  • Balancing work and family
  • Understanding the Mass
  • And much more
All fathers are welcome! You may join at any point throughout the year. You can find more information on the parish website.
