CLIMATE LEADERSHIP AND UNIFYING ATLANTA THROUGH CYCLING SUMMITS HELD AT GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY!

The Unifying Atlanta Through Cycling bike summit was held on Saturday, April 2 nd and was attended by a number of schools and organizations.  On Tuesday, April 5 th, the first of six national Climate Leadership Conferences was held at Georgia State University.  Read the full review of both events by clicking here.


WASTE MANAGEMENT SUMMARY

Morgan Bachman, Office of Sustainability Recycling Coordinator, has finalized the finalized Georgia State University Waste Management Summary for calendar year 2015.  She provides the following highlights for the year:
  • As a campus, we recycled nearly 300 tons of single stream recyclables
  • The dining halls composted an average of 10.5 tons of organics per month
  • Our highest monthly diversion rate (34.56%) occurred in January '15
  • We saw our best monthly recycling rate (22.89%) in August '15
