Dear Members and Friends,
We hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. As we celebrate the independence of the United States, German companies are showing some concern over the recent developments in international trade. A non-representative flash poll by the DIHK showed that 75% are directly or indirectly impacted by the steel and aluminum tariffs regarding imports into the US, and 57% are directly or indirectly impacted by the tariffs regarding exports from the US. The GACCs are monitoring the trade and investment situation for German subsidiaries in the US closely.

Talent and diversity management were the topics of our July Business Luncheon, where our new National Partner SW North America discussed how to leverage talent for business growth in a global marketplace. We invite you to join us and executives from the German business community for our next Business Luncheon with Manuel Merkt, President & COO of Hermle Machine Company, on August 1 .

Last but not least: Together with our Wisconsin Chapter, we invite you to the 2018 German Fest Reception in Milwaukee, WI on July 27. Register now for summer networking in a unique atmosphere, make interesting business contacts and enjoy German food and beverages.

Enjoy the Read!
