Aug. 28: August Professional Development: Real Talk about Fake News

Join guest speaker Dave Collett, executive vice president and general manager of Weber Shandwick’s office in St. Louis. He is a senior member of the agency’s Corporate Communications practice, leading teams in the Central region of the U.S., and specializing in strategy, crisis communications, issues management, corporate reputation and corporate social responsibility communications. 
Real Talk about Fake News session will dive into:
  • the changing definition and usage of the term “fake news” 
  • how fake news impacts real news, potentially eroding the credibility and the influence of genuine media outlets
  • automated online message dissemination
  • how social platforms are trying to filter and combat fake news
