Global Hot Spot Update
Effective April 11, 2017, the USPS will suspend most mail services to Guatemala until further notice.  The suspension affects:
  • Priority Mail Express International (PMEI)
  • Priority Mail International (PMI)
  • International Priority Airmail (IPA)
  • International Surface Air Lift (ISAL)
  • M-Bag
For already deposited items to Guatemala, the Postal Service will endorse them as "Mail Service Suspended - Return to Sender" and then place them in the mailstream for return.

For any items bearing a Customs Form, as well as any item shipped with PMI service, upon request, the Postal Service will refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service.

For all other returned items not bearing a Customs Form, upon request, the Postal Service will refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service, or the sender may remail them with the existing postage once service to Guatemala has been restored.   When remailing under this option, please cross out the markings "Mail Service Suspended - Return to Sender".

Globegistics will hold any mail destined to Guatemala at our at our New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles facilities until the suspension has been lifted.  Customers can also opt to hold on to their Guatemala mail until the suspension has been lifted.

We will continue to keep you posted as information is provided by the USPS.
