The GMVA is holding its annual Splash Day for residents on Saturday, August 8, at Sawmill Park, which is behind the First Baptist Church, from 1 PM to 4 PM.  The pools and the splash pad will be open to help cool you off.  The GMVA is providing a DJ, snow cones, bubble foam pit, games, prizes, drinks, pizza, burgers, and tacos.  Come and meet your GMVA board members and neighbors.  Children of all ages are invited and EVERYTHING IS FREE.

While you are there, you can get information and sign up for a National Night Out party for your neighborhood.  National Night Out this year is Tuesday, October 6th.

Pathway Under Grogan's Mill Road to be Temporarily Closed

Work on installing a new water line and repaving the path under Grogan's Mill Road will begin on August 1.  The path is expected to be reopened by the end of September.  The path which is owned by the The Woodlands Development Company is being transferred to the Township when finished.

The pathway is an extension off of the Millbend Loop that crosses under Grogan's Mill Road between North and South Millbend, near South Timbertop, and leads to the Conference Center and the Village Center on the west side of Grogan's Mill Road.

Back to School Party at The Woodlands Farmer's Market at Grogan's Mill

July 30 - Good Neighbor Day at the Dairy Queen. Noon - 3 pm. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch program will be distributing summer safety tips.

August 2 - Good Neighbor Day at Fire Station 3 on Sawdust Road at Sawmill.  Stop, drop and roll into your local Fire Station 3, located on Sawdust Road at Sawmill.   Meet the firefighters who keep you safe, pick up some crime prevention tips from The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch and let your children see our fire trucks.

The Good Neighbor Days are sponsored by The Woodlands Township and our village representative, Doris Provencio, will be at all of these events to answer your questions and provide tips for safety, home maintenance and more.

Water Fluoridation

A majority of The Woodlands MUDS, all except MUD 6 and 36, voted "no" to adding fluoride to the water supply when we start using surface water from Lake Conroe later this summer. The United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) currently recommends public drinking water supplies contain 0.7 milligrams of fluoride per liter of water in order to reduce instances of tooth decay.  Our current water supply contains about 0.6 milligrams.  The new water supply will be approximately 0.2 milligrams.  This change should be considered in your diet and brushing routine.

SJRA Easement Clearing

The San Jacinto River Authority will be doing easement clearing in various parts of The Woodlands in July and August.  A section along Sawdust between South Millbend and McDonald road will be done in August.
