Senior Living Home Asks to be Included in the GMVA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Residents of The Village at The Woodlands Waterway asked if they could be included in Grogan's Mill Village Association.  At the January meeting of the GMVA board, Don Gebert, John Nanninga and Nancy Aldrich spoke on behalf of the residents at The Village asking to be included in GMVA so they could have a vehicle to participate in community activities.
East Shore and other residential areas of Town Center are not included in any village association.  The GMVA board voted to include the residents of the senior living center in the GMVA after it has been approved of by The Township.
Cheer a Runner, Help a Kid Go to College, Have Fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Woodlands Marathon is being held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, with an expected field of approximately 8,000 runners.  The organization sponsoring the Marathon has a 'Cheer Challenge" among all the Village Associations.  The Villages sponsor and man "themed" stations on the course and cheer runners on, encouraging them to keep going.  Last year we had a St. Patrick's Day theme and were at the one-mile marker of the course.   The runners vote at the end of the race for their favorite Cheer stations.  In 2012 we came in third place and won $500 for our efforts.  This year we are at the final leg of the race and are aiming for that first place prize which earns GMVA $1,000 for our scholarship fund.  We need your help.  If you are interested in joining us in this fun activity (all family members are welcome) please contact bruceecunningham@me.com.
