GMVA Welcomes New Board Members and Officers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At its meeting on March 17, the GMVA met its new members Jane Georges and Jody Ronzio.  Both of them joined with great enthusiasm and we are delighted to have them as valued members of our community organization.
Jody was elected Secretary and Jane was chosen as the GMVA's new VP of Government Relations, the person who represents our village to the Township.
We also had an election of officers.  Dana Denton, who has been Vice-President for the last year was elected as President (for the second time), Marie Brennan was elected Vice-President, Bob Leilich was re-elected as Treasurer and Jody Ronzio was elected as Secretary.  This is a great group of people that will represent our community to others and work for the villages' economic growth and image.
GMVA to Hold its Annual Planning Retreat, April 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The planning retreat is where the GMVA Board decides on the organization's priorities and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year (April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015).  Our main acitivity is running the Grogan's Mill Farmer's Market, but we also donate thousands of dollars to our schools, award scholarships, financially support the food banks and other activities designed to benefit our residents and community as a whole. One of the major things residents have asked about is cul-de-sacs.  We have over a hundred cul-de-sacs in Grogan's Mill.

If you would like to provide your thoughts on what projects we should undertake and suggestions on how to successfully accomplish the goals, you can let us know by emailing president@gmva.org or coming to our meeting at La Trattoria Tuscano on Technology Forest at 2:00 PM.

Grogan's Mill Farmer's Market
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last Saturday, the Grogan's Mill Farmer's Market offered materials and demonstrations on how to make a no-sew grocery bag out of an old T-shirt.  If you missed this fun craft, come on out this Saturday.  We have some materials left, but feel free to bring an old T-shirt of yours that you would like to make into a grocery bag.
If you don't already receive it,
sign-up for our weekly e-blast that gives listings of the vendors participating each Saturday, as well as the produce and other wares you can expect to find.  Look for more details other special events in our upcoming e-blasts and at the Grogan's Mill Farmer's Market Facebook page
New Development Design Standards
RUD Road Development Proposal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Woodlands Road Utility District (RUD) has put in its proposal for road improvements as part of the South County Mobility Study.  It has proposed widening Grogan's Mill Road from four to six lanes from Research Forest to Sawdust and other activities.  One of our concerns is the request from other parties to expand Sawmill to the Grand Parkway.   We will be discussing this issue at our annual planning retreat in April.  If you have thoughts or comments please let us know by replying to this newsletter.
