|Two New Board Members Selected for GMVA
Because of work-related issues and relocation we recently lost two valued board members last month. Thank you Lachelle Gentry and Matt Beasley for all your hard work on GMVA programs during the past few years. At this week's meeting two new board members were elected: Stacei Bible and John Hennigan
Stacei lives on Lazy Lane and has been in Grogan's Mill for almost four years. John lives on Crinkleroot and has been a resident since 1991. Their biographies are now on our Board Member page.
We still have one vacant seat on the board and ask residents who might be interested in serving on the board, to please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org to express their interest.

|Bridge from Grogan's Point is Completed
Work on the bridge between Grogan's Point and the Shopping Center has been completed and it is usable. Residents say that it is definitely an improvement and looks good.
From The Woodlands Township:
The Woodlands Township, in a cooperative effort with Commissioner James Noack's office and the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), encourages residents to participate in a survey about future growth. The online survey, conducted by H-GAC, should only take about 10 minutes and can be found at www.cvent.com/d/1cq678/3B.
In less than 30 years, the region is expected to add 3.5 million people. H-GAC and partners are working on a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development to help local governments prepare for this growth. The data from this survey will be used for the plan.
The survey, named Think 2040, is open to all residents of Montgomery County until Monday, July 8, 2013.
We encourage you to complete the survey to have some influence in the process.
|Ad-Hoc Transportation Committe
The Woodlands Board has established the Ad Hoc Transportation Committee to advise the Board over the next few months on all transportation issues in The Woodlands, including the Mobility Study and the Transit Study. They will complete their work some time this Fall. The Committee's next meeting is on Monday, July 15th at the Township offices on Technology Forest Drive.
|Revised Construction Schedule for New Water Pipes
Work will begin this month on the southbound lanes of Research Forest from Shadow Bend to Grogan's Mill. This project will take seven months. Work on the southbound lanes of Grogan's Mill will begin in January 2014 and traffic will be impacted to Woodlands Parkway until April 2014. Access to neighborhoods will be maintained by temporary structures or by drilling underground tunnels to keep the road network intact. The first step of construction on the new water line is now on Research Forest. A construction fence starts at Kuykendahl and extends a mile or so east.
