Resolution to Rename Portion of I-45
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Montgomery County commissioners approved a resolution that supports naming a portion of Interstate 45 George P. Mitchell Memorial Highway.
Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of House Bill 8, which requests the Texas Department of Transportation to designate the segment of I-45 from the Texas 242 south to the Harris County line.
Signs will be placed along the freeway, recognizing Mitchell, the founder of The Woodlands.  "The signs will be a fitting tribute to Mr. Mitchell," Precinct 3 County Commissioner James Noack said.
