|Tell the Parks and Recreation Department What YOU Think
For the past several months, The Woodlands Township has been gathering information for its Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment. The goal of the needs assessment is to understand the needs and wants of the community and then prioritize them for implementation. To date we have talked to numerous user groups including the Village Associations and the local sport and recreation groups.
|Township Elections - Vote on May 14th
Election day is May 14th from 7AM to & 7PM.
There is only one contested race for the Township in this election and turnout has been low. As of Monday night only slightly more than 1,600 people have voted. Every vote will make a difference. If you care about the community please get out and vote.
The web sites for the only contested position, are http://peggyhausman.com/ and http://www.stilwellfortownship.com/about-james
- Voting for residents of Grogan's Mill will have some changes from prior elections.
|Fire Danger - Residents are advised to take precautions
Please remember that Montgomery County has issued a fire ban throughout the County, which prohibits outdoor burning. The Woodlands Township does not allow open burning at any time without a permit, and the fire department encourages all residents to use extreme caution when using any type of open flame, said The Woodlands Fire Chief Alan Benson.
"Until conditions improve, The Woodlands Fire Department discourages any use of fire pits, charcoal grills or any other sources of ignition that could cause an accidental fire, Chief Benson said.
|May Yard of the Month Winners
|Franklin Palmer (lf) and Jim Upham presented the May Yard of the Month |
Luke & Harriett have lived in their home for 5 years. They have red salvia, white begonia and coppertone ginger in their flower beds. The yard has hard landscaping paths so everyone can walk around without getting muddy. They also have red maple and red oak trees as well as several tropical trees. In the front entry way, Harriett has put juniper holly with an assortment of other plants for balance. Additionally, they have moss rock borders around each flower bed. This yard makes us all proud of the hard work Luke & Harriett have done in their yard. Congratulations Luke and Harriett.
This beautiful yard was nominated by Jim Upham
