Road Update
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Montgomery County Commissioners on February 23 approved a bond issue of $350 million. Precinct 3, which is most of The Woodlands and east of I45 south of Taminia Road, will get $105 million.  The other three precincts will get $80 or $85 million.  The bond issue will be voted on May 9, 2015.  Precinct 3 projects, which are the ones we are  most interested in are listed as:
1. Rayford Road railroad-Texas 99 and Overpass at railroad - widen to six lanes. Cost - $60 million
2. Woodlands Parkway westbound direct connection - Grogans Mill to Interstate 45. Cost - $25.25 million.
3. Robinson road, realign and widen to four lands from Interstate 45 to railroad. Cost - $8 million
4. Gosling Road bridge. Cost- $3.8 million
5. Precinct wide signal and intersection improvements and overlays. Cost - $3.1 million
6. Widen Lake Woodlands Drive from east of Lake Front Circle to Interstate 45 to six lanes. Cost - $2.6 million
7. Add fourth westbound land to Woodlands Parkway from Woodloch to Grogans Mill. Cost - $2.2 million.
Precinct 2 has not released their project list so it is not clear yet if they will be asking for funds to extend Woodlands Parkway to  Texas 249.
The GMVA has asked the Commissioner's office for more details on what will be done in our neighborhood.
The Woodlands Marathon this Weekend
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Woodlands Marathon will take place this Saturday, March 28th.  Save yourself time by looking at their website before you leave your neighborhood on Saturday.  You may want to choose an alternate route.  The website offers a comprehensive traffic guide to the race.

Cul-de-sac Maintenance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Township has approved a plan for basic small cul-de-sac maintenance.  The small neighborhood cul-de-sacs will have basic maintenance once or twice a year.  Dead trees will be removed, vines cut, and grass will be cut back.  No mulching or other maintenance will be done. This is a project the GMVA had requested.
Village Elections
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sara Bissig, John Hennigan, Jody Ronzio, Tom Chumbley and Bruce Cunningham were reelected to the GMVA board and Tom Howard, Michael Tabbert and John Yoars will be joining the board as newly elected members. The RDRC (Residential Design Review Committee) incumbents Bob Leilich, Vince Frederick, and Rex Campbell were reelected, while Alana Ashley and Sharon DeMarsais were elected as new members of the committee.

Yard of the Month
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our popular "Yard of the Month" program begins again in April and will continue with one winning yard being selected by GMVA Board members each month until September.  Check out previous years' winners at our website.  Plus, if you feel that your yard, or the yard of a neighbor, would be a worthy candidate, please submit the address with homeowner's name and contact information (if available) to webmaster@gmva.org.
Grogan's Mill Planning Meeting, March 8th
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The GMVA will be holding its annual planning meeting at which we discuss priorities and budgets for the 2015/2016 fiscal year on Sunday, March 8th from 1 PM until 4 PM.  Most of our money that we earn from the Farmers' Market is dedicated to financially supporting local schools, scholarships and donations to organizations like Interfaith's Food Bank.  If you have suggestions for us or would like to attend please let us know at suggestions@gmva.org.  The location of the meeting is still to be determined.

Flood Plain Map
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New flood plain maps were issued last year.  As a result some areas that had not been at high risk have been declared as such, while some others have been taken off.  You can go to this sites below, enter your address in the 'Red Box' in the lower right side and you find your risk level.  Detailed maps of the area flood plains are also available here  https://www.floodsmart.gov/floodsmart/  and at the Montgomery County Web site http://gis.mctx.org/apps/floodplains/.
Who Owns That?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The County has a new site to determine who owns property.  It is easy to use.  Find it at http://moco.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=950f166397364f18a25d3e4407174aff

Revised Holiday Garbage Collection
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some people have been confused by the garbage collection after the holidays.  The scheduled holidays in 2015 were reduced to three days (New Years, Thanksgiving and Christmas) from six days last year.  Since all the holidays fall on Thursday or Friday this year, Grogan's Mill garbage days will remain on Wednesday all year.
