The GMVA plans on having a function at the park as well to celebrate the reopening.  One new item in the park will be a bench in the playground area in memory of Bill Sargent, former GMVA board member, who died last year.
New Houses on Lake Harrison
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many questions have been raised about the land clearance taking place on Lake Harrison near the old AC site. Thirty new housing units are being constructed, each unit will have two homes of approximately 4,000 square feet.  The price range is reported to be in the upper $600,000 range.
GMVA Announces Two Scholarship Winners
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Grogan's Mill Village Association board of directors is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2012 GMVA Scholarship.  Originally, the Grogan's Mill Village Association had intended to award one $1000 scholarship, but due to the high quality of the scholarship applications received, the board unanimously decided to award a second $1000 scholarship. We are so pleased to be able to reward these two outstanding students in our community.

All applicants were evaluated based on financial need, community involvement and citizenship, extracurricular activities and accomplishments as well as letters of recommendation.  Miss Katarina Jones and Miss Ashley Sparks, both from The Woodlands College Park High School, met and exceeded all criteria.

Congratulations to these hard working young ladies!

This Saturday, June 2nd is the 2nd Annual Tomato Mania Festival, benefiting Veggie Village, the community garden project that supplies fresh produce to Interfaith's Food Pantry.  It's going to be even bigger with more Chefs cooking up their best tomato-based recipes for you to sample along with entertainment and lots of family fun.  The Festival will take place in the same area as the Farmer's Market with lots of the produce and other ingredients used by the Chefs supplied by our vendors.
