|Street Closures this Saturday, March 2nd
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Be prepared if you have somewhere to be on Saturday morning; plan your route ahead of time to avoid delays. For the most part, Lake Woodlands Drive, Research Forest Drive, Kuykendahl Road, and Grogan's Mill Road between Research Forest and Lake Woodlands will be impacted. The Woodlands Marathon has put together a comprehensive traffic guide to assist you in planning your route.
Customers of our Farmer's Market at the Grogan's Mill Village Center, should use Woodlands Parkway if traveling eastbound from the western Villages of The Woodlands.
|Cheer a Runner, Help a Kid Go to College, Have Fun!
The Woodlands Marathon will be held this Saturday March 2. To encourage the runners each village is participating in a Village Cheer Challenge. The village that is rated the highest by the runners, will get a cash prize from the organizers.
We had lots of fun last year and felt as if we were participants in the race. Our theme will be St. Patrick's day so we will be wearing and carrying all things green. Our station will be at the corner of Lake Robbins Drive and the Northbound lane of Grogan's Mill (HEB store corner). The top prize is $1,000, which will be used toward the Grogan's Mill Scholarship Fund. One of the items considered when we are evaluating our scholarships is how much community participation the student has been involved in.
If you are interested, come join us at the corner of Lake Robbins Drive and the Northbound lane of Grogan's Mill (HEB store corner). We'll be there from 8am until noon.
|Are you Plagued by Unsolicited Calls?
One of our Board members reports: "We have been plagued by unsolicited phone calls for months. We have typically checked the called ID and ignored the ones we did not recognize. Someone suggested taking the phone off the hook but not saying anything. We tried this and it seems to work. The caller knows you are there but not answering."
