Fall Farmer's Market Begins October 2nd
Mark your calendars for the start of the Fall season of the Grogan's Mill Farmer's Market. Several new and unique vendors were welcomed to the Spring Market and are planning on returning to the Fall Market, opening Saturday, October 2nd.
Our produce growers have all indicated their intent to return in the Fall with their fresh-grown vegetables and fruits, plus we'll have all our other familiar vendors with their meats, eggs, cheeses, prepared ethnic cuisines, olive oils, breads, coffees, desserts, dog treats, soaps, and candles. Reminders of our opening will be posted in this newsletter, plus we'll continue our new tradition of email "blasting" all our subscribers on Fridays with all the anticipated specials for that Saturday along with a listing of the fresh produce available at the market that weekend. Thanks to all our Farmer's Market supporters and the GMVA looks forward to seeing you and your families and friends again in October.
Prescription Drug "Take Back" Initiative
from Neighborhood Services:

On Saturday, September 25, 2010, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in its first-ever, nationwide prescription drug "Take-Back" initiative. This initiative seeks to prevent pill abuse and theft as well as to provide a safe way to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the public can bring unused, unwanted or expired drugs to the Wal-Mart parking lot at I-45 and SH 242. The service is free and anonymous. No questions asked.
