JULY 2014
From The Executive Director

Greetings from Downtown Grand Forks! Can I just say, I have been blown away by the drive, determination and passion of those who live and work in Downtown Grand Forks. It has been a pleasure meeting so many of you and I look forward to meeting many more. This month has flown by with barely a breath. Wheels are in motion and as you can see below, there are so many opportunities to enjoy Downtown Grand Forks. As you spend time here this summer, I want to offer a playful challenge to
leave the car parked at least two blocks from where you are heading. This is the season to do it! We are Mid-westerners and we are the toughest in the nation. We handle some brutal weather, so when it's nice (yes, even in the rain), let's get out and stretch our legs. Who knows, you may find a new shop, store, restaurant, or other business that you never knew existed. Not to mention our bodies will thank us for it. Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Go Downtown!

Sincerely,
Stacey Majkrzak

"LET'S DO" LUNCH
Gathering together

"Let's Do This" and "Let's Do That" are common phrases that we want to put into action! Join us every Monday at Noon in Town Square and "Let's Do" Lunch together. Just bring a lunch and a chair (if you want) and we'll engage in dialogue relevant to the issues facing our city and meet new people, while emphasizing face to face social interaction and encouraging walking and biking. Young and old are invited so "Let's Do" Lunch!

ART & WINE WALK
Enjoying art, wine, food, and local businesses

June's Art & Wine Walk drew over 500 people to historic Downtown Grand Forks and East Grand Forks to experience the businesses and to become familiar with regional artists. During each event, downtown businesses host talented artists who exhibit original artwork, and the businesses offer food and samples of wine. The event ends at The Empire Arts Center with a champagne reception. If you are over 21 years old, this is an event you don't want to miss! Next event is Saturday, July 19 from 1-5, beginning at the Blue Moose and Guest House/Town House. Art & Wine Walk
