GO Featured on #FreshLo Panel at SXSW
Green Opportunities made its South by Southwest debut this month as part of the 2018 SXSW Cities Summit! Executive Director J Hackett was part of a Kresge Foundation FreshLo (Fresh, Local & Equitable) panel discussion. Panelists discussed how neighborhoods across the country are using food to create vibrant, healthy, and inclusive communities. GO has been a FreshLo grantee since 2016. New Green Opportunities StoryShare:
Ziporah Holloway, GO Graduate
In our latest StoryShare video, Southside Construction graduate Ziporah speaks about her multi-year journey with GO, and how her time here has exposed her to new career paths and helped change her mindset.
"I don't think I would be where I'm at right now if it wasn't for GO Green Opportunities, because I'm on a different mindset now. You put in what you can, do your best, and they'll meet you where you're at."
Thanks to Amplified Media for producing our StoryShare series!

GO's YouthBuild Training Program is in Full Swing
This month, GO's YouthBuild students have been putting their new carpentry skills to work in the shop by constructing a chicken coop, which allowed them to practice framing, painting, and other building skills. They've also joined forces with our Southside Construction students this spring to break ground on the long-anticipated Southside Garden pavilion.
