116th Western Amateur Championship To Be Contested At Sunset Ridge Country Club

Sunset Ridge Country Club in Chicago’s North Shore will play host to the 116th Western Amateur on July 30-August 4. One of the world’s oldest and most storied golf championships, this grueling test of 5 days and 8 rounds of championship golf will bring in the world’s best amateur golfers from over 21 countries internationally.

Only the toughest and strongest will survive! On hand for the recent 2018 Media Day Press Conference at Sunset Ridge CC was 1985 Western Amateur and Western Open champion Scott Verplank and reigning Illinois State Amateur champion Patrick Flavin of Highwood, Illinois facilitated by WGN-TV sports anchor, Dan Roan.

Illinois Open Championship Returns To The Glen Club

The Illinois Open Championship returns to The Glen Club, Glenview, IL on August 6th through the 8th. The 69th Illinois Open Championship is a 54-hole stroke play event with a 264-player starting field size. The field will be comprised of place-winners in eight (8) qualifying events and those players exempted from qualifying. This state championship is open to professionals and amateurs alike with a handicap of 10.0 or less who reside within the state of Illinois.

Competitors will play one round at each of the two host facilities: The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois, and Ravinia Green Country Club in Riverwoods, Illinois during rounds one and two. Following 36 holes of play, the field will be cut. The final round will take place at The Glen Club.

The 2018 Illinois Open Championship will mark the 11th time The Glen Club will host the championship round, the most of any course through the event’s 69-year history!

The USGA and Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame officially have launched to the public the 2019 U.S. Senior Open Championship. Over 120,000 spectators are expected for this first-ever event to be hosted at a collegiate golf course on June 24-30, 2019.

The magnitude of the execution of this major golf event will mirror a Notre Dame football game day. Volunteer opportunities and tickets are available now by visiting 2019ussenioropen.com. Over 2500 volunteers are needed and opportunities are available now.

The best thing about this event is that parking will be FREE and with the super large lot next to Warren GC, spectators can walk right to the golf course! Warren GC and the USGA can’t wait to roll out the green carpet and showcase the community, their hospitality and this gem of a golf course.
