COMING OVER THE TOP

If you are a golfer you've probably heard the expression Coming Over the Top many times. So what does this mean and importantly what can I do to stop it?

Well, coming over the top is when your upper body starts your downswing first or ahead of your lower body.

Another way to look at this is the right shoulder (for a right handed golfer) is moving in an outward fashion instead of a downward direction. This results in the golf club coming over the top of the desired swing plane.

Anyone who watched the Men's or Women's 2014 U.S. Opens at Pinehurst #2 were treated to the golf course architectural genius of Donald Ross, arguably the most accomplished and revered designer to have worked on American soil. According to the Donald Ross Society, 13 courses in the Chicago area from 1913 to 1921 were either new creations or redesigns by Ross.

TO HOST OPEN HOUSE

March means spring, and spring means golf! To kick off what promises to be an exciting 2015 season for both Forest Park and Creekside golf courses, the City of Valparaiso's Parks and Recreation Department will host a season-pass drive and open house from 11am-3pm on Saturday, March 21 at Forest Park. Area golfers are invited to enjoy chili and snacks, compete in a putting contest (weather permitting) and learn what's new in Valparaiso golf this year, including a streamlined rate structure.

2015 GOLF SHOW RECAP

TINLEY PARK GOLF EXPO
With an exhibitor booth sell-out this year, the 4th Annual Tinley Park Golf Expo experienced steady crowds the entire weekend! Golf show attendees who stopped by GOLF NOW! Chicago's Booth #706 at the Tinley Park Golf Expo had a chance to win over $2,500 in golf prize giveaways - rounds of golf and great golf packages. The new 2015 GOLF NOW! Chicago guide debuted at the show.

Attendees who entered for a chance to win a prize at GNC's booth at the Tinley Park Golf Show where gathered around when winning names were called for all 11 prize giveaways!
