GOPIO BIENNIAL CONVENTION UPDATE AND PRE-REGISTRATION DETAILS

GOPIO Biennial Convention is scheduled for June 24th and 25th, 2016 and GOPIO General Body Meeting on June 26th, 2016. Our convention team in New York is working very hard to make a successful convention. Please see more details, including conferences planned, timing and registration for the convention.
 
We need your suggestions, input and help in the following areas.
 

1.       Pre-register for the convention before May 31st and save $25 on the registration fee.

 

2.       Become a Patron of the convention. You will be listed in the Souvenir Program Booklet and your registration for the convention is complimentary. If you do not attend the convention, we will mail you the program booklet and other convention materials.

4.       Suggest qualified conference session speakers/panelists.

 

5.       Nominate Diaspora Business Achievers, Social Entrepreneurs and Businesses with Social Responsibility (see details below) for recognition at the convention.

 

6.       Send us Diaspora issues of common concern for discussion and to take up as a convention resolution.

 

7.       Since GOPIO is an inclusive group and all are welcome to attend this global forum to network on a global level and particularly in business, please forward this e-mail to all your friends and colleagues in business and professional services as well as to Indian community leaders.

GOPIO Business Council is seeking nominations in these categories to be recognized at the Finale Banquet on June 25th from the Indian Diaspora community. Please send in your nominations to [email protected]. The deadline is June 5th.

GOPIO Life Members and Chapter Delegates attending only the General Body Meeting on June 26th need to pay only $80 for the day (includes breakfast, lunch and coffee/tea Breaks)
 
Become a Patron of the Convention - $275 for individual and $ 500 for couple (Must register before June 10th to be listed as Patron in the souvenir booklet). Include registration for all events of th e convention from June 24th to 26th.

 VISA REQUIREMENTS
 
Visitors from most Western European and Scandinavian countries, New Zealand and Australia do not require a visa to visit the U.S. Visitors from India and other countries need a valid visa to come to America. After registering for the conference, an invitation letter will be issued. Apply at the nearest American Consulate for a visa.

CONVENTION PLANNING MEETING HELD IN NEW JERSEY

The Third Convention Planning Meeting was held at the Fairbridge Hotel  in East Hanover and hosted by GOPIO silicon Valley President Ashok Bhatt. Comvemer, Co-conveners and committee chairpersons provided the reports of the various activities. Convention Convener Lal Motwani reported that a full color 100-page program booklet is planned for the convention and that he was seeking advertisements and sponsorship. Conference Chairperson Dr. Thomas Abraham reported that in addition to an inaugural session, there will be eight sessions organized in two tracks which will be held at the New York LaGuardia Marriott Hotel.The committee also decided to have teleconferences every week till the convention.
