Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem

The McKinney Center is the backbone organization of the Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem - one of 56 national ecosystems supported by the STEM Funders Network. The goal of our Ecosystem is to increase collaboration in, reduce duplication of, identify gaps in, and provided access to quality STEM education throughout the region. The Philadelphia Ecosystem includes a Steering Committee; 5 robust Work groups; and over 130 members representing nonprofits and community groups, schools and school districts, government agencies, colleges and universities,
businesses and corporations, and foundations and philanthropists. There is no fee to join the STEM Ecosystem, and you can learn more about it HERE .

McKinney/GSK Got STEM? Conference

The McKinney Center and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will host a free, one-day Got STEM? Conference on Monday, May 7, at the GSK headquarters in the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Eighty middle and high school Philadelphia public, Archdeacon, charter, and private school classroom teachers will participate in keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, networking, and tours of the GSK facility. Act 48 credits and free enrollment in “The School Collective” will also be available. The School District of Philadelphia will provide day-long substitutes for all of its teacher participants.
