McKinney STEM Teaching Fellows

Supported by PECO, The McKinney Center Teaching Fellows Program is an intensive short-term teacher professional development series, designed for Philadelphia public school teachers seeking to deepen the STEM literacy of their students. This initiative will take place between mid-February and the end of April, 2018. It will include 4 weekday afternoon workshops, a capstone project, a small stipend, and Act 48 credits. McKinney STEM Conference

GlaxoSmithKline will host a one-day McKinney STEM Conference on Monday, May 7, at their headquarters in the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Eighty middle and high school Philadelphia public, archdeacon, charter, and private school classroom teachers will be invited to participate in keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and networking. Act 48 credits will also be available, and the registration process will begin in February 2018


Explore STEM Philly

Explore STEM Philly connects students, teachers and professionals in a variety of stimulating forums. Each encounter helps students discover the principles of STEM and its application to career paths and everyday life.

Everyone has a role to play in Explore STEM Philly. Teachers and professionals collaborate to create dynamic lessons while students discover new concepts and receive guidance on their unique learning needs. Become an active member by volunteering in one of our partnership high schools or as a citywide science fair judge. Review (and share) the attached flyer and fill out our volunteer survey !
