Position: Director of Membership

Job description
The Georgia Restaurant Association (GRA) provides a unified voice for an industry comprising over 17,900 foodservice and drinking places in the state of Georgia with total sales in excess of $19.6 billion and provides more than 446,600 jobs, second only to Agribusiness, in non-government employment. As a 501(c)6 the GRA provides service to restaurant membership thru Advocacy, Education & Awareness. Restaurant owners join and support the GRA by paying annual member dues.

The trade association is seeking a Membership Director that can:

Increase membership revenue through membership products and services.

Manage a Membership Sales team to help recruit and retain members across Georgia.

Develop and implement a strategic membership growth plan, including annual recruitment and retention campaigns aimed at increasing overall market penetration.

Develop, design, and manage systems to track market penetration, customer service impact, engagement, and membership trends.

Administer membership policies and standard operating procedures.

Forecast membership revenue for the association and prepare an annual budget

Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to develop integrated marketing campaigns across multiple marketing vehicles to drive new membership growth.

Work with suppliers/vendors to build and grow sponsorship revenue.

Organize webinars, podcasts, and other services that help educate our members.

Provide industry insights that will help our members.

Exude positivity in talking to members and suppliers.

Communicate with the Board of Directors on the direction of the organization.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience.

Experience with association management and restaurant experience a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and some form of CRM system

A history of proven success driving revenue thru sales tactics, strategy and training

Must have experience managing and training sales/business development staff

Possess excellent analytical as well as written and verbal communication skills

Experience communicating with corporate C-Suite executives

Good understanding of the restaurant industry

Demonstrated success in developing B2B programs with strong ROI

Must be a team player and able to work effectively in a small, open and collaborative environment.

Have a strong attention to detail and quality control

Have an ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously and independently

Excellent customer service skills, to include oral, written and phone communication skills

The position is located at our headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
