Why did you join GRYP?
I moved back to Grand Rapids in 2010 after graduating college, I did not want to hang out with my parents every weekend so decided I should look into making friends/ social organizations. My internship mentor was part of GRYP so I signed up, joined a committee and the bowling team. Seven years later, as Elton John once said, "I'm still standing.. after all this time".
What's your favorite event?
I don't want to be bias..so I will say Table for six or Trivia. Both offer a more quality of quantity interaction with our members.
How long have you been a member?
18 years, 18 years..wait wrong song. I have been a member for about 7 years, been on the board for 5 as Director of Membership.
What area of work are you in?
I am a HR Generalist/ Recruiter for a Mortgage company
What's your favorite thing to do in Grand Rapids?
It is hard to pick one thing...I am a huge foodie so I love trying to new restaurants or bars that are opening up (the more patios the better). I also really love Fredrik Meijer Gardens and Movies in the Park!
Anything else you'd like to add?
Joining Grand Rapids Young Professionals is one of the better decisions I have made in my life. It is how I have met most of my friends and allowed me to take on leadership opportunities. It is because of the positive experiences I have had with this organization that I have decided to take leadership positions in other organizations as well.
