IT'S GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!
This Sunday kicks off the 2013 Girl Scout Cookie Season! There are tons of new things to look forward to, including the debut of our newly designed cookie boxes (the first in 13 years!), a virtual cookie sleepover (register today!), National Girl Scout Cookie Day (Feb. 8!), and the strategic change to sell a Super Six cookie variety! We’ve added fun, new activities, resources, and contests to help you maximize your business experience and re-emphasize the heart of the program: learning the 5 Skills for Girls, teaching girls to run their own business, and practicing community service through the Gift of Caring Program. Talk to your troop leader about participating today—every girl and troop should have a goal to reach for!

Visit our website and like the GSGLA Cookie & Nut Friends Facebook page to stay updated.

MISS REPRESENTATION MOVIE SCREENING
Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts are invited to a screening and discussion of Miss Representation on February 9 at the Art Theater in Long Beach. The film exposes how mainstream media's limited and often disparaging portrayals of women contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence. Check out the preview at www.missrepresentation.org. See the Program Calendar to register. Contact Teresa Heston-Rojas at theston@girlscoutsla.org for more information.

FEED YOUR NEIGHBOR
Feed Your Neighbor Service Day & Food Drive will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Check out this link for more information and stay tuned to future newsletters for more updates.
