GIRL SCOUT WEEK IS COMING!
In honor of Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary, GSGLA has gathered some great ideas to celebrate!

Recreate the Historic Girl Scout Call:
In 1912, Girl Scout founder Juliette Low made a historic telephone call, which led to the March 12, 1912 gathering of the first Girl Scout troop. Recreate "The Call" in the new millennium via smart phone. Text the word "GirlScouts" to 52000 and donate $10 to support the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.

Girl Scout Sunday/Sabbath: Attend your place of worship and be recognized as a Girl Scout (as an individual or group)! Perform a service or use this time to explore other faiths.

Girl Scout "Cupcake Wars":
Tune in to the March 11 episode of "Cupcake Wars" on Food Network as top chefs make Girl Scout-inspired delicacies. The episode features GSGLA's own Gold Award Recipient Chelsea Glover-Odom as a guest judge and the big reveal event was at Girltopia! "Cupcake Wars - Girl Scouts" airs Sunday, March 11 at 8pm PT.

Girl Scout Polished:
Paint your nails green during Girl Scout week! A fabulous and fun green shade of chip-resistant nail polish is available in council shops!

Wear Your Green with Pride:
Show your Girl Scout spirit by wearing your Girl Scout uniform, a Girl Scout apparel, or the color green on March 12! Don't have anything to wear? Looking for something new? Our council shops have great items for you to choose from! Click here for the online shop page or here to find the shop closest to you!

Click here for more information on these great ideas and many more! Don't forget to send your photos to communications@girlscoutsla.org.

GIRL SCOUT WEEK OFFICIAL PROCLAMATIONS
Mayors, City Councils and County Supervisors will proclaim March 10-17 as Girl Scout Week in Los Angeles County, Kern County, San Bernadino, Ventura County, and in 31 cities. Would your troop like to accept the proclamation on behalf of GSGLA? Send your request and your city to communications@girlscoutsla.org.

TOGETHERTHERE - HAVE YOU SIGNED THE PLEDGE?
She looks at the world around her. Our country's leaders and captains of industry. Our TV, movie, sports, and pop stars. Fashion magazines. Her counterparts - boys the same age - playing by different rules, as if in an entirely different game. What do her possibilities look like? Who are her role models? How can she be it, if she can't see it? It's time we made changes that support her path to success. Together, we can get her there. Click here for more information and to sign the pledge.
