Friends of the Library, MC Bookstore to Host 

Friends of the Library, Montgomery County , welcomes GSSCC members and guests to its Silver Spring bookstore (8901 Colesville Road) for the Chamber's April Business-After-Hours from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Wednesday, April 25.  This event is free for members and first time attendees.  Enjoy a scavenger hunt, door prizes, appetizers and a cash bar.  Click here  to register.

Montgomery County is a  progressive and prosperous county. How will we continue to afford our quality of life and make life better for all our residents? Hear what leading economist Anirban Basu, Sage Policy Group, has to say about where we are today and what needs to happen for continued prosperity. Then hear the Democratic candidates for Montgomery County Executive answer questions about their visions and plans for a progressive and prosperous Montgomery County at the "Economic Indicators and Montgomery County Executive Democratic Candidate Forum" from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. this Friday, April 27, at The Universities at Shady Grove (9960 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville).  This event, sponsored by a number of business organizations in Montgomery County, is free for members but requires pre-registration by clicking here.
Learn the Power of "Eye Catching" Design

Does your company's image need a boost?  Do you want to understand more about using graphic design to build your brand? Join Walter Carlton, principal creative of Carlton Creative and designer of GSSCC's 25th Anniversary promotional materials, for " Eye Catching: The Power and Process of Graphic Design," a free, members-only workshop from noon to 1 p.m. next Wednesday, May 2, in the GSSCC offices. GSSCC will host a members-only networking lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, at Pacci's Neapolitan Pizzeria (8113 Georgia Avenue).  Participation is limited to 24 attendees, who each have the opportunity to speak for three minutes about his or her business. $25 includes appetizer and entree.  Click  here  to register.

Costco Wheaton  has kicked off its annual fundraising drive for Children's Miracle Network. Advertising space in its warehouse is available for a tax-deductible donation to CMN.  For more information click  here .

* Denizens Brewing Company is expanding. Co-founders Julie Verratti and Emily Bruno have announced that they plan to open a new, and larger, production facility and adjoining taproom in Riverdale Park by the end of the year.
