Show the Candidates that Businesses Care about the Council Election

The County Council makes the laws that determine how easy or difficult it is for businesses to operate.  For the first time in years, voters will have the opportunity to change the face of the Council by electing four new members.  Candidates for these positions need to understand that businesses care about the future of our economy and that businesses have a voice. Join GSSCC to make that voice heard and meet candidates seeking election to the Montgomery County Council, At-Large and District 5 (Silver Spring), at a breakfast reception from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. this Wednesday, May 16, at AFI Theatre & Cultural Arts Center (8633 Colesville Road). Candidates will be asked to address business-related questions in small groups throughout the event. Complimentary continental breakfast will be provided courtesy of  Statland & Katz, Ltd. Click here  to register today This event is for GSSCC members only.

Bonifant Street to Close Beginning This Week

Beginning at 5 a.m. today, Monday, May 14, the right hand curb lane on East-bound Bonifant Street between Dixon Avenue and Georgia Avenue will be closed.  Weather and progress permitting, the traffic lane should re-open no later than March 15. In addition, the sidewalk paralleling the south side of Bonifant will also be closed to accommodate delivery of construction materials for the 8250 Georgia Avenue building.  A flagging operation and signage will direct motorists through the work zone and will direct pedestrians to the sidewalk on the North side of Bonifant at the intersecting crosswalks at Dixon Avenue and Georgia Avenue.  Questions should be directed to Lendlease (US) Construction, Inc.'s senior field superintendent Donald Schoening at240-670-7035 or don.schoening@lendlease.com
