First off, thank you for a wonderful 2013 Tour! We also want to thank those of you who took the time to complete the surveys. The results of these surveys help us to improve the Tour and communicate with current and future Tour sponsors. As the subject line indicates, we hope you are able to rejoin us ON TOUR for the 2014 season - our 11th year!!

 

2014 GTA Am Tour Schedule

As you can see, we have been VERY busy booking clubs! The 2014 Tour schedule is almost complete and we are very fortunate to have the following clubs returning to the Tour: Lookout Point, Coppinwood, Beverly, Brantford, Barrie, Wildfire, Deerhurst, Bigwin Island, Copetown Woods, Meadowbrook, Osprey Valley, Ladies Golf Club of Toronto, Grand Niagara, Cedar Brae, Dundas Valley, Oshawa, Whitevale, Mandarin, Mad River and Granite!! To this strong roster, we have added Devil's Pulpit, The Club at Bond Head (North and South) and Wyndance.

 

2014 Tour Championship

The 2014 Tour Championship will be held at Muskoka Bay Golf Club on Sunday September 28th and Monday September 29th. This two day (18 holes per day) event is open to all who wish to compete. The event fee includes the use of a golf cart and a banquet dinner on the Sunday evening.

 

2014 Major Events

The Tour will hold three Majors this summer. In May, we will hold the season's first Major at the South and North courses at The Club at Bond Head. In June we will once again host you at a two day event at Deerhurst and Bigwin Island and in July for a two-day 36-hole eevnt at Osprey Valley. These Majors will take place on Sundays and Mondays. 

 

Tour Registration

If you would like to register for the 2014 Tour, at a reduced registration fee of $99 (plus HST), please visit the website and log in (If you have forgotten your password please use the "Forgot Password" feature on the Home Page). You will see the "Register for the 2014 Tour" button. Please hit this button and you will be prompted to sign up for the 2014 Tour. Once you have registered, you'll be able to sign up for 2014 Tour events. PLEASE NOTE THAT SPACES ARE LIMITED!!!

  

REGISTERING FOR EVENTS

As the majority of you know, players used to sign up for an unlimited number of events as soon as registration opened. In the past, this has resulted in a number of events appearing to be FULL as early as January or February. As we approached 21 days prior to some events we had as many as 80 players withdraw from their spots.

 

Out of respect for others who wish to play events ON TOUR please only sign up for events in which you plan to play.  

 

Players will continue to receive a reminder email four weeks prior to each event they are signed up for. If you do not wish to play you will have one week to withdraw. As in previous years, three weeks prior to each event, players will be charged the full event fee.

 

Sponsor Gift Bag

The first 400 GTA Am Tour players to register for the 2014 GTA AM Tour will once again receive a Sponsor gift package. We are working with current and new Sponsors to add to this package. At this time the gift package includes: Sundog sunglasses, Tour hat, water bottle and towel, Nature Valley bars, a tube of Nuun and hopefully, some more, yet to be determined swag!!

 

Prizing

As you know, Ecco, TaylorMade and Mill Street took care of the Tour's 2013 prizing. We are currently working extremely hard to renew the existing prizing and locate new prizing solutions. Many Tour players, sponsors and Team members have stepped up to connect us with potential sponsors. If you know anyone who may be interested in connecting with this wonderful community of passionate, dedicated and engaged golfers please let me know.

 

Tour Patron Sponsorship Opportunity

Last year was the second year for the Patron Sponsorship Opportunity. A number of players took the opportunity to play 20 Tour rounds of golf.

 

In addition to 20 rounds of Tour golf and waiver of the Tour registration fee, Patron Sponsors will receive:

 

1) Your corporate logo on The Tour's website along with a link to your company's website

2) An end of season "Patron's of The Tour" day of golf at Oviinbyrd Golf Club

 

The price of Patron sponsorship is $4,500 (plus HST). There will be a maximum of 15 Patron Sponsor spots which will be filled on a first in first booked basis. If you are interested in becoming a Patron Sponsor, please call me at the number below. Patron Sponsors will receive a Marketing Agreement and invoice for their Sponsorship of The Tour.

 

LIMITED SPACES FOR 2014 EVENTS

Please keep in mind that there were over 500 registered Tour players in 2013 and there are no dates (other than Osprey Valley and The Tour Championship) where The Tour visits the same course for two consecutive days. This means that, throughout the entire season, all 4 Flights will be playing on the same day. EVENT SPACES WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE LIMITED AND, AS ALWAYS, WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST REGISTERED/FIRST IN BASIS.

 

REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE!!

  • EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION - $99 (Prior to March 2, 2014)
  • Spring/Summer Registration - $125 (After March 2, 2014)

These registration fee stages will be in place until such time as there is a waiting list for any of the private club events.

 

REFERRAL PROGRAM

If you know of anyone interested in signing up for The Tour, please have them visit the "Join Nowsection of the website. This year we will be providing Tour players who refer a new player (who plays at least two 2014 events) with a $50 thank you for referring a friend. We will also be conducting draws for rounds of golf at Coppinwood for those of you who refer your friends and family members to The Tour. Please ensure your friends record you (on the Join Now page) as the person who referred them.

 

Tour Staffing 

We are very excited to have a number of Tour Team veterans returning for the 2014 season! We are looking forward to once again working with Vanessa Villani who will be managing the event registration and scoring and with Jason Gendron who will be reassuming the role of Director, Tournament Operations!!

 

We are looking for two people to help us with event day set up and pace of play. If you know someone who can attend all 28 Tour event days please have them contact me.
