Cummins Westport nets final certifications for 2018 engine lineup
Cummins Westport Inc. secured U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board emissions certifications for all three models in its new 2018 natural gas engine lineup after receiving approval for its 2018 ISX12N heavy-duty engine. Full story
XL Hybrids gets latest CARB approval
XL Hybrids received approval for plug-in hybrid electric Ford F-150 pickup trucks in California - an industry first. According to the automaker, XL has the most approvals to sell into California - in the form of executive orders issued by CARB for aftermarket vehicle electrification in the fleet industry. Full story
New vehicle fuel economy falls to 25 MPG
The average fuel economy of new vehicles sold in the U.S. in December fell to 25 mpg - down 0.2 mpg from a revised November value, according to Brandon Schoettle and Michael Sivak, researchers from the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute. Full story
