Dr. Robert Thurman , our keynote speaker, will address "Managing the Complexity of our Times."

Dr. Thurman is an eloquent advocate of the relevance of mindfulness in our daily lives. He is a leading voice of the value of reason, peace and compassion.

Join us to hear Dr. Thurman discuss:
  • Leadership in complex times and how to stay present in the midst of transitions.
  • How mindfulness practices allow us to be more efficient and work more collaboratively.
  • What we can do to bring our whole selves into life and the workplace.
  • What we all can do to build more sustainable workplaces. What practices we can incorporate to avoid burnout. What others are doing to create more harmony.
Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH 13th District) will join us via a video addressing Mindfulness & Resilience in Government and our Nation . "

We will listen to Congressman Ryan as he shares his thoughts and personal experiences on how we might implement mindfulness practices to inform, empower, and motivate the leaders of the 21st century.

Copies of his book, A Mindful Nation, will be available for purchase.
Our panel speakers will give their expert perspectives on resiliency and productivity. Lieutenant General Huntoon, a Senior Fellow at GW-CEPL, was a champion for a resilience program in the US Army. He will discuss his experience with leadership development and management best practices. Ms. Hughes will address how quiet time and courageous conversations have been key ingredients to her success in the DC government.
